TUFTMASTER’S Environmental Policy for the Cope Street, Preston site:

TUFTMASTER’s mission is to manufacture the highest quality carpet products in an environmentally sound manner, and to meet all statutory requirements.

To ensure that our mission is achieved TUFTMASTER and its staff undertake to:

• Develop, augment and operate the Cope Street, Preston, site and manage its operations to achieve compliance with statutory environmental requirements.



• Lead and educate its customers in minimising resource use and wastage.



• Make this policy known to the local community. Consult with its customers and the local community to ensure community issues are taken into account and to ensure the organisation’s responsibilities and capacities are known.



• Ensure all site staff are aware of this Policy, the requirements of the Environment Improvement Plan (EIP), their roles and responsibilities as laid down in the EIP, and are at all times properly trained to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with EIP requirements, and have the resources to operate the organisation’s systems to meet environmental objectives
  
  
• Develop and regularly review environmental objectives and targets to achieve continual improvement in environmental performance.



• Review the attainment of Policy objectives annually and continually develop the site’s EIP to reflect changing regulatory conditions, developments in the organisations operations, and changes in EIP requirements defined by standards and regulatory agencies.

TUFTMASTER intends to work towards developing an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) and associated documentation, by designing its system in accordance with Australasian and International Standard AS/NZ/ISO 14001, to ensure that policy and regulatory requirements are satisfied across the whole company, and that a consistently high level of environmental performance is thereby maintained.
